Modell for a site specific installation in the new building of the Film and Television Academy in Potsdam-Babelsberg
 
Throw the coin in the well and think of a wish!
By a sensoric devices under the water on the bottom of the well measuring the position on the thrown coin, different video, computer images and audio sequences from a pre-recorded data-stock will appear: the whole well will suddenly become a vision of various dreams. The whole surrounding of the well will become a place to meet, to exchange thoughts or just to take a peaceful rest.
The suggestion to build a video-fountain for the new building of the Academy for Film and Television in the new media centre in Potsdam-Babelsberg/Germany is to be found in the tradition of the origins of the meaning of a classical well (fountain).
The Video Fountain is a metaphor for a view in our closer surrounding or a greater space of our world. It shows particles of changing realities, visions and stories of the past and future.
Sounds and images are appearing in non-linear combinations provoked by the users via an interface system. The images will either appear on a flat video-sen or projected from above by a video beam. The size of a well will be approx. 3 x 4 meter.
