... the installation is set in a dark room where on one wall video footage is screened, consisting of 2 parts: 12 takes of a snow capped glacier alternating with 12 shots of a black blackground on which english words appear at regular intervalls. The first part is accompanied by a whirring sound, and the second part of dripping water. The room is filled with house plants on whose leaves parts of words appear: the plants seem to be reading the words and and watching the landscape. Color and light effects are achieved by the interference of leaves with the sreened image, while the visitors passing by the plants aware of their physical presence in the darkened room. The artist has attempted to to render in visual terms her own awareness of the fate of refugees whose tragedy we can only witness mutely as plants. ...
